Observatory is conducting a survey of the freedom of expression from a
legal, regulatory, and political perspective. Our first Press
Freedom Roundtable opens the discussion about whether the notion of a
"free press" is at all compatible with an oppressive political culture
like those currently found in Pakistan, Thailand, and Venezuela.
